Of course!

[info]ishyko and I bought our flights to Dragoncon on July 30, mainly because we both were watching prices, and they had increased in two days, and the flights we preferred were starting to get pricey, so we figured we'd better buy 'em now before they went up even more, or our choices for return flights were 6:30 AM on Labor Day. (As it is, Cary and I are leaving Sept 2 at 6:30 AM....)

So what do I get in my inbox just minutes ago? A sales notice, from AirTran (the carrier we're using), listing $39 oneway fares from BWI to Atlanta (and $59 from Dulles).

Fuckwits. I could've saved $200 had I waited another 9 days.

But of course I know that purchasing plane tickets is as much a crap shoot as, well, craps. But still!

Fuckwits!

Ack. I had the same problem getting WisCon tix, although I would have only saved $100, but still.

Feel better Jo. I really researched the prices and it actually costs more. You didn't add in the $33 in taxes. In addition all the return flights cost more than when we booked, unless you fly out at 8am. So it's the same price if not more. I went to the site, looked at the prices and checked by calculator. We got the better deal. :)

Whew! That's good to know.

Like I said, I didn't go to the website...didn't want to be more pissed off than I already was!

Also, you couldn't purchase the ticket at that price for the day you were leaving. No Friday or Saturday travel.
